Community of VOICES Receptions- In recognition of its upcoming 10th Anniversary in 2010, Voices for Children is launching a series of information receptions: Community of VOICES. The receptions will offer community members an opportunity to hear the ways in which CASAs have given a "voice" to abused and neglected children in foster care over the past 10 years as well as Voices for Children's vision for the future. These receptions are not fundraisers or volunteer recruitment events, but simply a way to celebrate the dedication of CASAs, staff, board of directors and a community that has continuously supported Voices for Children's efforts to provide a CASA for every child who needs one. Receptions will be held 1-2 pm on the second Tuesday of every month, beginning January 2010. They will be held at the Voices for Children office. For more information or to RSVP, please call 979-822-9700.
Coaches for Children Event- We are pleased to announce the High School Coaches for children on Thursday, July 29th from 5:30pm-7:00pm. The event will be held at C & J's Barbeque at 100 Texas Avenue in Bryan with Chip Howard of Station WTAW 1150 serving as emcee. Local are high school football coaches will be in hand to discuss their upcoming football seasons, players, and hopes for district and state-playoffs. There are many similarities between what coaches do for their players and what CASA volunteers do for the children they advocate for in court. Join us to learn more about how you can get involved! This event is free, but seating is limited so please RSVP at 979-822-9700 or vfc@voicesforchildreninc.org
