Different Ways to Volunteer with VFC
Become a CASA Volunteer Our CASA Volunteers are Child Advocates for the child or sibling set that they are matched to. Each volunteer remains with that same child or sibling set throughout the course of the court case (usually at least 12-18 months) and advocates for his or her best interest. They talk monthly with therapists, teachers, foster parents, biological parents and family, and professionals involved with the case to gather information to better advocate for the child. Our advocates spend on average about 15-20 hours a month on their case. Advocates work closely with their Volunteer Coordinator to develop action plans and recommendations on the case. Find out how to become a CASA volunteer or see schedule of upcoming training. Contact: Amy Faulkner at 979.822.9700 or send an e-mail.
Become a Friend of CASA Friends of VFC is a group of volunteers from the community who support the administrative and operational responsibilities of our program. Friends of VFC are involved with organizing and staffing a variety of events, including fundraising, volunteer appreciation, and community awareness, as well as general office duties. They are a vital part of allowing our organization to continue to advocate for abused and neglected children in Brazos Valley. Contact: Connie Cadenhead at 979.822.9700 or send an e-mail.
